98th Oscars: Final Nomination Predictions
My predictions for the Oscar nominations in all 24 categories.
The moment of truth is finally upon us.
The long-awaited Oscar nominations will be announced on Thursday at 8:30 AM EST. As a way of marking the occasion, it’s a good time to share my predictions in all 24 categories.
Although my guess as to who’ll get nominated in every category is mostly as good as anyone’s, one thing I’m sure of is that Sinners and One Battle After Another will have a good morning. Also, there will be at least one director of a non-English language film handled by NEON that’ll make the Best Director five. Lastly, given how F1 got nominated at the Producers Guild of America Awards, I have a sneaky suspicion it could be this year’s Ford v. Ferrari, making the Best Picture ten plus a slew of artisan categories.
Some other questions include whether Julia Roberts’ public endorsement of Sorry, Baby will do huge wonders or if Best Supporting Actor feels as iron-clad as we believe? Is there room for someone like Delroy Lindo to pull off a huge surprise? Will NEON really make up the entire Best International Feature five? It’s unclear but like everyone else, I’m anxious to find out.
